Yawen Hu is a New York based multimedia artist who works in paintings, installations, print makings, sculptures, videos and films. .Yawen Hu graduated from Pratt Institute, Fine Art BFA program, majored in painting. In both abstract and narrative forms, Yawen's works explore relationships among humans and relationships between humans and their surroundings. Her paintings are abstract and texture, installations are interactive and time based, films are surreal metaphors that reflect social phenomena. Yawen has curated and exhibited her work at World Trade Center and shows at galleries at Lower East Side and Brooklyn. Her works has published on Netease, Art China, Artron, IFeng, Musee and so on Yawen worked at Denise Bibro Fine Art as a curator assistant and Musee Magazine as a videographer that produced, filmed and edited creative content weekly. As a director, Yawen directed her original screenplays, Hovering, Interview by the Beach was invited to over thirty film festivals including ARFF Berlin, Cannes Film Experience and A Door, presented by Allora Productions, featuring leading roles from John Wick 2 and special makeup artists from Wildling and Alien.
